This workshop is led by Courtney Foley, a Physical Therapist with background and training specific to pelvic floor and women’s health
Improving and maintaining pelvic floor function during the post-natal period is more than doing kegels. This workshop is an informational and overview for women during the more immediate post partum or if you have felt you never understood the below topics. Note this is more of an introduction, participants will learn some techniques, however this is not an exercise or targeted course. We will be offering course on Diasasti Recti and Incontinence separately.
Participants will learn about:
What is normal and not normal post partum
Vaginal prolapse
Pain with intercourse
Incontinence and Diastasis Recti (general)
Breath, posture, and body mechanics
Other interventions that are often helpful for more common issues with pelvic floor
Participants will learn how to properly cue pelvic floor activation, simple strategies and resources for common pelvic floor issues, and the principles of Integrated Functional Pelvic Floor Exercise .
