About Mary
Mary Hyde is a developmental therapist who works with children and their parents in a natural learning environment to support the whole child with her deep understanding of child development. Mary specializes in working with children with cognitive delays and various developmental disabilities such as autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy. Additionally, much of her work has been grounded in enhancing and developing children’s social-emotional competencies. Mary’s expertise is in early intervention and believes family participation is key in building a solid foundation for development. This encourages her to focus her professional attention on a holistic approach to early intervention services and education.
Dedicated to professional growth, Mary studied the educational infrastructure and early childhood programs in Finland, a world leader in early childhood education. She has also performed in-depth research on various academic topics, including analysis of education policies through the lens of equity and early intervention in early childhood education. Mary participated in the Education Policy Fellowship Program, holds a “Highly Qualified Early Childhood Education” certification from the University of District of Columbia, and graduated cum laude from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts. When not working, Mary loves to explore through traveling and hiking.
